Aqua By-products presents at ISA
 | | By-product project web-site launch in Ireland. | Last Friday 24th March, Mr Joe Mc Elwee, presented the Aqua By-products project to the participants of the Irish Shellfish Association's Conference in Ennis, County Clare.
He began by outlining the methods employed by the partners to collect the information from the 3 regions. He pointed out to the participants of the conference that "waste is money". He stated that "the interest in the web site has been surprising, with over 2,000 hits since it's launch by the Irish Marine Minister, in November 05". While most of the interest has come from Europe, Canada and the US, there has also been interest from some South American companies. He urged the members of the Irish Shellfish Association to log onto the web site and submit their waste details and inquiries. "There are currently three major Irish waste companies interested in the waste being produced in the Irish aquaculture industry" he said. New technology and products are now making waste by-products a profitable industry. For more infomation contact www.aquabyproducts.com
