PRESENTATIONS OF THE AQUAREG - REGEX SEMINAR ON EXPLOITATION, CULTURE AND USES OF MARINE SEAWEED
The seminar took place on the 15th of May in the Technological Center of the Sea (CETMAR) of Vigo and consisted of 9 presentations and a debate on the different systems for culture, exploitation and applied uses of marine seaweeds in the Atlantic regions, which were of great interest for the people present.
The purpose of the seminar, interchanging practical experiences between the industry and the researchers while informing the general public, was satisfactorily achieved. The speakers showed a high level of knowledge and the public expressed great interest for the subjects treated.
During the debate following the presentations it was pointed out that it is desirable that more seminars like this should be done in the future, in order to keep alive the interest on seaweeds and to increase the knowledge for the sustainable exploitation and utilization of , presently, an infra utilized natural resource
